It is a magnificent expanded metal mesh which can be created from a range of ductile materials. As the ideal material for Blade of Wind Turbine Lightning Strike Protection, when struck by lightning, an unprotected wind blade experiences an electric arc from the point of contact through conductive components to the root of the structure, and parts may reach temperatures of up to 30,000°C and possibly cause the blade to explode.

 

Copper Expanded Metal Foils protect these composite structures from lightning strikes and ensure the functionality of the components.
